Rebecca Steiner, MS Gerontology, IRC Director

In her earlier education Rebecca earned a degree as a paralegal; working in the legal arena for both state and federal governments.  Seeing first hand  the complex issues of aging when dealing with her own aging parents led to the decision for a career change; getting her Bachelor’s and then her Master of Science in Gerontology.  She has prior experience working in the non-profit field and was instrumental in creating a senior services program for a large local non-profit.  Her education and work experience give her an extremely broad ability and perspective in working with older adults of all socioeconomic groups, genders, and races.  She is a past board member of the Foundation for Senior Wellbeing holding the position of secretary for several years.  Rebecca has been a member of the San Marcos Lions club since 2010 where she has held the positions of secretary and president.  She loves to read, travel, camp, and do a little gardening.
